Get Fit For Summer- Just Do it Nike Giveaway

Can you believe it’s almost already March?! It seems like just yesterday we were ringing in the New Year.

2013 has been a great year for me so far. I have stuck to clean eating 80% of the time and have never felt better. The other 20% I watch what I eat but still treat myself on occasion. Balance is key otherwise I would go crazy and over indulge.

I also got my acceptance letter to Western Washington University. I will start attending the University in the spring and could not be more excited! I have been working to get into Western for quite some time, and now that it is a reality it feels surreal.

One of my big goals for this year was to get into a regular workout routine. So far I have been rocking it, working out 5-6 days a week and sometimes even 2x a day. Working out doesn’t feel like work anymore- I enjoy it, which is a huge change for me. I used to dread having to walk into a store from the back of the parking lot. Talk about 360.

What has worked for me is switching it up!! I love keeping my body and muscles guessing. I am in a weight training class 2 days a week and really focusing on increasing my strength and form during these classes. I also go to the gym 3-4 days a week. I usually start with 20 mins of HITT cardio, followed by a group class or more lifting. The days I can’t get to gym, no problem. I am currently in week four of my at home Beachbody Chalean Extreme program. Working out with Chalene Johnson is so inspiring. Talk about one hot mama!! Chalene has the most positive energy and pushes you to your fullest potential.  I am part of #teamnoexcuses, which means I workout no matter what I don’t make excuses I just get er done (my workout that is) regardless of my mood that day.

My motto is strong is the new skinny and I can’t wait to see where I can take my body.

Spring is around the corner, which means your probably trying to get that beach body in shape!! 1. My goal for summer is to get a lot STRONGER! Run faster, harder, and longer! I also want to eat more clean, move out of my house, start search and rescue training, and help other people reach THEIR health and fitness goals!! I want to start eating 80% clean TODAY. I like how you phrased it: STRONG is the new SKINNY, and it's all about balance! You can't set limits for yourself like ONLY EAT CLEAN, because if you break the rule once, you'll break it again! 80/20 is a great balance and thank you so much for all of the inspiration, motivation, and ideas!!!! <3

  13. Hello My names Marlow or @marlowjess. I've stuggled with my weight since the day i can remember... my heaviest being 200lbs and VERY unhealthy when i was 17 i went to get a sports physical and the doctor told me i was obese... that was it for me and the last three years i have slowly but surly dropped about 65 pounds :). My ultimate goal before summer is to be able to run 10 miles straight! i've gotten up to 5 as of now but i think it would be awesome to enter a race and be able to do something that 3 years ago i couldn't even fathom.

Great Giveaway ladies! it's awesome to see everyone getting so inspired to be healthier!!!

  15. Hi Lauren!!

I definitely have a bunch of goal I want to (am going to!) reach by summer! First is the biggest goal, drop another 20-40lbs! I know it sounds like a lot but I am working hard each day to get there! Next is to start exercising (helping goal #1) and start toning. I need to get my body into a routine it's never been in begore but I know I can do it! My last summer goal is to go swimming for the first time with my son and my first time since high school (almost 10 years)! These goals are what keeps me going every day.... Hopefully some new Nike's will help start my exercise goal!! Thanks for keeping me inspired and educated in the health dept.! You rock!
