Maple Cinnamon Cashew Butter Recipe

If you follow me on Instagram (@kitchenqueeneats) you know I am OBSESSED with nut butter. Peanut butter, cashew butter, almond butter, sunflower seed butter all makes me one happy girl!! It is my guilty pleasure that I don't have to feel all that guilty about because all of these nuts are packed with healthy fats. Don't fear the fat people- your body needs it to function.

I discovered that nut butter was EASY peasy to make at home a couple months ago. All you need is nuts and a food processor and your good to go.

Recipe Rundown:

Kitchen tools- food processor, measuring cups/spoons, spatula

2 cups cashews ( I used roasted unsalted)
2 tbs maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon (I added an extra sprinkle at the end)
1 heaping tbs of coconut oil

1. Put the nut in the food processor and let that bad boy do it's thing!! The nuts will go through stages. First they become a powder like this...

2. Just keep mixing and scrapping down the sides until it starts getting creamy like nut butter! Till it looks something like this...

3. Then add your extracts, spices, and melted coconut oil. Keep on mixing!! The longer you go the creamier it will get. It may form a large ball in the processor, just break it up with your spatula and keep mixin. When your desired consistency is reached put it into a glass jar and store in the pantry.

I made banana bacon sandwiches with my maple cashew butter and they were BEYOND amazing. I'd choose this little slice of heaven over a doughnut any day. Try it, you will thank me.
